RELICS & ARTIFACTS Prima Marketing Flowers
I collect my passions and now have the pure joy of creating with them too. This whole thing started because I couldn't put holes in an amazing antique Milagro. I wanted to create a necklace but couldn't bring myself to alter the original. I looked around at all the odds & ends scattered on my shelves and there it was!! Of course, create some craft blanks, RELICS & ARTIFACTS was born!!
Monstrance: CHIVALRY 941697 I painted the entire piece a deep brick red then used 3 tones of gold acrylic craft paints, bright gold, a metallic gold and an antique gold. The wood backing was custom cut... Prima will have them available this Summer! Vintage found objects are incorporated there and there, an old candlestick, a child's ring, a small brass wax seal. I use E6000 to adhere everything together. Add in some tiny accent touches of turquoise, mahogany, emerald and dark brown... helps bring the piece to life. Finish off with garnets and smokey quartz trimmed in dresden and Finnabair Mica Flakes on the wings.

WHERE WOMEN CREATE Magazine Summer 2015
I am a lucky girl. I've had the pleasure of working with Jo Packham for more than 10 years, since the inception of Where Women Create magazine. I had the honor of being included in Where Women Create the Book published by Sterling/Chapelle 2005 alongside amazing artists like Victoria MacKenzie-Childs, Jo Packham, Wendy Addison, Debbee Baxter Thibault, Suze Miller Weinberg, Nancy Wiley, Carolyn Westbrook and many others... all of whom I admire to no end. Now here we are in 2015 and the magazine is more popular than ever, I pore over every new issue like I have just discovered the magazine for the first time! It's always beautiful to look at, its always an interesting read and more than anything else I always learn something I didn't know from talented women who are doing whatever it takes to follow their dreams... which as we all know is never, ever easy. This issue is especially wonderful, from Jo's editors letter "from my Kitchen Table" where she talks about just how Complicated what we as artists do, to every artist featured, Bethany Kramer, Melody Nunez, Anne Freund, Jill Davis of scrapbook.com , Coco Bush and many more... it is a not to be missed issue! Oh and it has a tiny peek inside my madhouse of a studio!!

My original pieces hang on a little tree here in my small studio. I think they look really pretty even left unpainted!

Bezel it!
I love all the beautiful bezels out in the market today. Did you know it's simple to set any of the RELICS & ARTIFACTS castings into your favorite bezel?! Pick a bezel that approximately fits the RELIC you want to use, if its a bit too large use sandpaper to get it to the size and shape preferred. I use E6000 or GOOP adhesives to glue it into the bezel, let the adhesive dry completely and then pour in a tiny bit of plaster. Let dry and paint!! Prima Marketing Flowers

Prima Blog Hop RELICS & ARTIFACTS
Hi Everyone!
Prima Marketing Inc. http://prima.typepad.com is hosting a National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop! My project is called "Purple Passion" I used the RELICS & ARTIFACT Ex Voto II Flaming Heart for this piece. It's glued together with E6000, let the glue dry completely. I used deep purple silk velvet to cover the heart portion, just coat the heart with a layer of Tacky glue and work the velvet onto the surface, take care not to put sticky fingers in the velvet! Next paint the flames with a base coat of an acrylic bright yellow, adding gold for highlights, and some orange and red for added "heat" at the tips. I apply the "flames" portion using the end of a toothpick to create tiny streaks of color throughout until it looks fiery and finished! To further decorate and embellish your flaming sacred heart use E6000 to adhere vintage and antique collected broken jewelry bits.
