A House into a Home

Slow and steady,

bit by bit,

inch by inch

and piece by piece

a house is something

that you build.

A home is

a place that you create.

A house is manufactured

from wood

and nails

and bricks.

A home is made

of hopes

and dreams.

A house is built

on a solid substructure of

mortar and iron.

A home's foundation

is reinforced by

caring,

kindness,

and most of all love.

A house is a shelter

from nature's elements.

A home is your protection

from the sometimes overwhelming pressures

of the outside world,

your comforting refuge,

a safe sanctuary,

your carefree, easy and happy place!

VISUALS: My husband and I purchased this beautiful wooden Victorian house from a wonderful Etsy shop, it came in a box of what seemed like thousands of pieces, it took us three days to put it together but it sure was fun!

I'm impressed! What a lot of details to put together, but such a beautiful result. I'd love to live in a life sized version of this home. :)

Hello long time no see friend! Love this latest post...what a beautiful delicate house you have made here...your photography, of course, is amazingly beautiful and the sentiment that goes along with it makes me even more thankful for my very humble abode...I love amd am so very thankful for my house, it is my haven. Take care and stay safe...this is just another of your inspirations to me :)

Sandra,
I love how you weave a story in your posts and illustrate them all throughout with little surprises for the eyes.

I love your new Victorian house. Your words reflect how much you are enjoying your new home. And whispers of how thankful you are from your heart. I love how this looks, like a fairytale.

wow, what a cool house and an amazing post. thank you for sharing your thoughts. Reads sort of like Brian Selznik's The Invention of Hugo Cabret (soon to be the movie Hugo) with the pictures speaking as much as the words.

Your family palace is gorgeous and is built with the right materials! Hope you are keepin' cool. Are you having drought? It's bad here... sad to see some beloved trees in our town not making it.

Have a terrific time at the WWC next month!!

Gorgeous Sandra..and alot of work! It reminds me of a dollhouse I got for Christmas when I was 10 years old. My Mom came home with a Victorian Dollhouse kit and my StepDad spent 2 months down in the basement putting it together. It was a challenge, but well worth it. I SQUEALED with delight over it. To this day I still own the dollhouse. :) Enjoy! xo,Jenn

Wow, this is glorious. This is beautifully pieced together. What patience.

I used to browse through a dollhouse mag called "Miniature" years ago and love all the intricate details, decor and mini furniture that is used in dollhouses.

Keep us posted on how this new "home" is transformed.
