Happiness is: Finding your way.

Setting out on a new adventure...

in search of exciting, inspiring things...

discovering wonderful places to explore...

and beautiful sites to see!

Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon?

The world's a nicer place in my beautiful balloon,

It wears a nicer face in my beautiful balloon...

We can sing a song...

and sail along the silver sky!

For we can fly!

Up, up and away,

in my beautiful,

my beautiful balloon!

If you hold my hand we'll chase your dream...hee, hee, I can't remember the rest of the words to the song!

Now, I suppose you are wondering what this is all about!

Well, it is finally here! ~WHERE WOMEN CREATE~ and it has blown in on the wind like a ship set out to sea,

carrying it's creative bounty to all!

First there was the book, "Where Women Create" by Jo Packham and now the quarterly magazine! And it is everything you could have imagined and more!

This magazine, hmm, I feel funny calling it that, it is really more like a book, and let me tell you, cover to cover yummy!

Where Women Create is a place where beauty and clever creativity abound! Jam packed with delicious photos, words of wisdom

from artist's you know and love and my favorite section, Where Women Shop the place to find exclusive limited edition objects of desire by the featured designers, like Jenny Doh! Karima Cammell! Jill Schwartz! Denise Sharp! Lisa Kaus! Debbee Thibault!

and A Creative Woman, print on canvas by your's truly, along with my new column Studio Chic, as well as works and offerings by Anna Corba, Jody Battaglia, Kaari Meng, Jen O'Connor, Shelli Gardner, Mary Jane Butters and the list goes on! Quite the roster!

Then there are all the additional goodies like the Silver Suitcase Society, which is your passport to the creative journey!

I can't begin to tell you guys how wonderful and supportive you are, and in celebration of the launch of Where Women Create, I want to show my appreciation by giving away one ~FREE ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION~to the magazine as first prize! A $60.00 value!

As second prize, a Where Women Create tote bag with a
little box of treasure inside!

And as third prize, another tote bag with a WWC pen so you can sketch out all of your creative ideas!

The magazine is truly a little slice of heaven to be poured over again and again! Every time I look at my already well worn issue I see something new! Find your way to the place where women create, really, you owe it to yourself! I will pick the winners on Sunday, November 30th, good luck to you all! Visuals details: hot air balloon created from a champagne cork basket, antique fashion plates, some hemp string and cardstock, old European paper maps, antique books and a wooden pointing "He went that way!" hand found at a thrift shop. I've been wondering what you had in store. What a wonderful balloon ride. I'm sure there is all sorts of boundless beauty amidst the pages of Where Women Create. It looks charming.
What a sweet little balloon ride! I love it! I also LOVE the first issue of Where Women Create. Ever since my issue arrived I haven't been able to put it down. It's fabulous! I'm anxiously awaiting all the future issues!
I L-O-V-E the Where Women Create book. My studio seems to frequently be a horrid mess, a complete shambles. That's when I pull out the book and peruse the various studios thinking, "hmmmm how can I do that in my studio."
So when I got wind of the magazine Where Women Create, I was counting down the days till I could run down to Borders and buy it.
I was not disappointed. Not one little bit. And it was just in time too. My studio is currently a horrid mess, a complete shambles. The magazine has provided loads of inspiration for getting the studio back into shape!
What a beautiful balloon! The magazine sounds wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the wonderful balloon ride Sandra.
Okay, so NOT Miss Texas. But you did have the singing competition part. (Fifth Dimension and all).
The magazine (I know, I agree it doesn't seem right calling it a magazine)is wonderful!! I haven't read all of the aticles yet but the photos alone are beautiful.
So, here's to you and, well, to me hoping you draw my name. Please don't let the air out of my balloon!!
D.
Count me in on the wonderful prize!! How sweet of you to offer. I'm setting my hopes high and sailing back to my blog.
Hugs,
Pam
You are a true artist :) what a journey!
It was wonderful to meet you last week at the quilt fest, will be in touch.

What a treat to take a balloon ride. I was planning on taking a "Napa" balloon ride when daughter takes me to California for my 60th. but the husband ruined that by showing me balloons crashing and burning on U-Tube....What a buzz kill husbands can be....So thank you for my own little ride!! And the magazine sounds simply wonderful....

That's one thing I would like to do...take a balloon ride.... think I'll just pass on the skydiving .... lol... I'm not as brave as you.
What great gifts.....
My center for creating looks pretty decent right now.... although you know that means I am not doing much in there.... however... yard and gardens are tidy.. all is put away and ready to batten down the hatches for winter should it arrive any time soon.... a perfect time to start some projects.... especially with the festive season quickly approaching.....
You're such a sweetheart for doing this!!! I would LOVE to be entered into this wonderful giveaway ~ I just bought my issue last night and it's gorgeous!!

Happiness seeing you in "Where Women Create". It is a lovely magazine. Is there anything you can't do?
Thankyou for sharing your studio in Where Women Create. Your dishwasher storage made me smile. I also live in an apt. and I long for more space. I do have a seperate room for my studio but it is a disorganized wreck. I am hoping to reorganize the room and make it into a place that I will love to create in. This issue of Where Women Create made me very happy and encouraged me to make my studio into a place that I want to be in and creating in everyday.
Your balloon ride is very lovely and uplifting on a cold, gloomy November day.
Please enter my name into your draw, all the gifties are lovely.

I just picked up the "magazine" on Friday, along with the latest Somerset Studio. I fell in love with the book when I got that last year and I've been anxiously waiting for it to come out. Only a REALLY bad cold kept me from picking it up when it first hit the newstands. Sigh. Would love to win a subscription - but I'm sure I'll go out and buy every issue if I don't!

Count me in please, how much would I love this?

Before seeing the book"Where Women Create", I thought I must be the only one who allowed an entire room in my home to be overcome by all the materials and treasures of my creative adventures, and then I was shown all the wonderful places these talented women create, I was not only no longer alone but very inspired! A magazine...what a dream come true, I can't wait to see it!

Awesome publication! I must get my hands on a copy! My studio needs an overhaul, it's always inspiring to see where other women create! :)
Gorgeous project!
Very clever use of champagne cork basket.
Thank you for the lovely article.
Wowsers! What a lovely little visual journey leading to...yay! a giveaway. Please count me in--I think I need some inspirational creative oomph at the moment. Thanks!

Where Women Create.......what a great name. Unfortunately there is no place here in Norway where I can pick up a copy, though now you have really tickled my curiosity.
I'm heading up the Napa Valley in the morning (hot air balloon country) and I'm going to tty to run out and find the magazine this afternoon. It would be perfect for the trip.
Darla
I love this! Thank You!

Wow, it's amazing how many comments there are. I've been dying to see this magazine ever since they've been showing peeks. I love how you announce it. I'm going to have to get my hands on a copy!!
I have made a trip to Barnes and Noble every other day in anticipation of this publication. And with each visit they tell me it shows it should have been out on the 1st, where it should be on the magazine shelves...BUT so far it's not there!!! Borders said they don't even show they'll carry it! I hate when I haven't planned ahead and ordered on line that I can't readily find things like this on the shelves.
I have the book Where Women Create and found it utterly fascinating to see the look of others creative spaces. I anticipate this publication will continue to thrill and inspire....when I finally have a copy! Especially seeing snippets.
You are amazing holding this kind of giveaway!

your blog is always so much fun, and now you have upped the anti with a wonderful surprise/gift! I hope I win, but if I don't, I will ask santa/my husband for the subscription!
I also wanted to say that regardless of the size/shape/square footage of someone's creative space, it's that there is a space at all that counts. Sometimes great works come from ones kitchen table or a small corner of a bedroom. I feel blessed to have an entire room of my own.
How did tattingchic get in here to comment so quickly.lol. Well, I am sure the number 184 is the winning number...it has my name all over it...right??/ lol. Laurie
Sandra, I just bought my issue at Borders today and thoroughly enjoyed reading about you.
I just love visiting here and seeing all of your story photos.
Congratulations on being invited to be one of the women in Where Women Create. Consider yourself an inspiration.
